In India, Xiaomi launching a new Redmi series called Redmi Y. With the new series launched, they have introduces two new smartphones. Redmi Y Lite and Redmi Y1 and both will be available in the market of India from 8th November, 2017. It will be their first sale of Redmi Y series phones. The biggest highlight of the Redmi Y1 is its 6-megapixel front camera, complete with a LED selfie light.The Redmi Y1 Lite is similar to its sibling in specifications but with front camera of 5-megapixel. Along with this Xiaomi has also announced MIUI 9 Global ROM for Redmi Note-4, Redmi MIX2 and MI Max2.
In India, Redmi Y1 price is Rs. 8,999 for the variant with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. Another variant with 4GB RAM+ 64GB storage priced at Rs. 10,999. Redmi Y1 Lite comes in only one configuration with 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and priced at Rs. 6,999. Both handsets will be available online at Amazon.in and Mi.com on November 8. After that, handsets will be available in offline stores as well.
